Throughout the years, our team at ASG Facility Maintenance has carefully listened to our customers’ flooring maintenance issues and came to understand that there was a common problem that carried through most of our clients’ retail and commercial locations. Oil or moisture was most often the culprit that deteriorated the integrity of VCT and other resilient flooring installations. We sought to improve this long-time problematic resilient floor failure by providing a total solution to solve this problem.
When oil drips onto a floor, it gets underneath the flooring into the concrete. Once this happens, no matter how often you clean the surface, the oil seeps its way back up from the concrete and causes the floor covering to look unsightly.
We knew we needed to block the oil from the bottom of the VCT, provide a 100% waterproof adhesive solution, and protect the top of the VCT from contaminants entering through the seams between tiles.
Our team of experienced flooring and commercial property professionals came together to revolutionize the flooring industry with an all-encompassing solution for resilient flooring. This process is currently Patent Pending.

ASG Oil & Waterproof Flooring System
Oil Block Primer, Waterproof Adhesive, and 5-Year Top Coat
The Remediate & Protect process:
- Demo existing floor covering.
- Pick up any standing oil using a paper or sponge absorption method. (Do NOT use sweeping compounds.)
- Use a degreaser to degrease the surface and scrub until all oil residue is gone.
- Prepare the concrete to achieve a smooth, porous, clean, and dust-free surface. If oil still oozes up, another pass will be necessary.
- Apply the Oil Block Primer to the concrete and leave it to cure.
- Patch and skim as necessary using Traverse patent-pending Waterproof Patch & Skim
- Spread Traverse patented Waterproof Adhesive.
- No need for moisture mitigation.
- No high RH, PH, or topical moisture failure
- Bond strength prevents tile shrinkage and gapping.
- Install the VCT, Quartz Tile, or another resilient flooring type.
- Leave a 3-hour cure time for foot traffic for Traverse patented Waterproof Adhesive.
- Prepare the surface of resilient flooring to allow the application of our 5-Year Top Coat.
- Apply 5-Year Top Coat and allow full cure time.
- Eliminates the need to strip and wax.
- High clarity – no more yellowing or dulling associated with acrylic floor finishes

ASG Total Waterproof Protection System For Resilient Flooring
Waterproof Adhesive and 5-Year Top Coat
Use for areas with no issues of oil contamination history (e.g., not in front of the retail space of the oil area.)
- Demo existing floor covering.
- Prepare the concrete to achieve a smooth, porous, clean, and dust-free surface.
- Patch & skim as necessary using Traverse patent-pending Waterproof Patch & Skim.
- Spread Traverse patented Waterproof Adhesive.
- Set tile and roll using a 100lb roller.
- Install the VCT, Quartz tile, or another resilient flooring type (3-hour cure time for foot traffic.)
- Apply 5-Year Top Coat and allow full cure time.
- Reduces maintenance by eliminating the need to strip and wax.
- High clarity – no more yellowing or dulling associated with acrylic floor finishes
